Firm’s Client Mighty Earth Publishes JBS “Rap Sheet” Exposing Meat Giant’s Appalling Track Record
Non-profit environmental advocacy group Mighty Earth published a comprehensive Statement of Facts concerning JBS’s long history of unlawful conduct, which continues to this day. A press release summarizing the publication is here.
Kevin was quoted in the release:
“Since our initial SEC ‘Whistleblower’ complaint in January 2023, we’ve made three supplemental submissions, exposing JBS’s shameless ongoing greenwashing and climate deception. This Statement of Facts marks our fourth supplemental submission. We have every reason to believe that we’re gaining serious traction and remain optimistic that the SEC will launch a formal investigation and eventually will file an enforcement action, seeking penalties, disgorgement, and possibly barring key JBS board members from serving as executives or on the boards of public companies.”
In addition to the pending whistleblower complaint, we have also made multiple submissions to the SEC’s Division of Corporate Finance, urging them to carefully scrutinize the company’s filings as it tries to go public on the New York Stock Exchange, and to require it to come clean about its egregious misconduct concerning its greenhouse gas emissions, its role in deforestation of the Amazon and other sensitive forests, its use of slave labor, child labor, its repeat offenses with price fixing and its systematic bribery campaigns. Those efforts, supported by a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators and members of Congress, as well as by a host of other advocacy groups, are ongoing.
If you are aware of other examples of companies misleading investors through “greenwashing” claims or other false or misleading statements, please contact a whistleblower attorney at The Galbraith Law Firm by emailing inquiry@galbraithlawfirm.com or calling 212.203.1249, for a free confidential consultation and evaluation of your potential whistleblower claim. Whistleblowers can be either company insiders or outside observers who have detected and documented corporate wrongdoing.
